August 2018 MG Car Club Sydney Illawarra Register Report

The deadline for this month’s Opposite Lock report falls before our two upcoming Illawarra Register runs, so I’d just like to give you a brief rundown on what we have coming up and the excellent health of the register.

We have two scheduled runes in the next few weeks, which will have already been enjoyed by the time you are reading this. Christmas in July will be held at the Mount Kiera Scout Camp on the 22^nd of July and early in August we are visiting Retford Park via Bowral.

The Illawarra Register’s success factors are:

• To create a series of relaxed and enjoyable events for members to take the MG for a run – especially those on historic registration
• To combine with other local car club groups, often the Jaguar Drivers Club Illawarra Register for these events to attract an interesting mix of cars and people

Our recent Illawarra Registers visit to the Harris family achieved these success factors very well indeed. We had a lovely social day and thoroughly enjoyed the interesting mix of Jaguars and MGs that turned out for the event.

Details of our Illawarra Register Runs After August

We have two more runs planned for the second half of 2018, and they are:

Thursday the 27^th of September: A visit to HARS (Historical Aircraft Restoration Society)

Rendezvous at the Historic Aircraft Restoration society Coffee Shop and Museum at Albion Park Airport.

10AM: Get together and catch up over coffee (at your cost)

Following that, we will take a tour of the museum. The tour costs $20 per person or $15 at a concession rate.

You can do either or both, just let us know.  For any further information and bookings please contact Michael Hough

Bookings by Thursday the 20^th of September please so we can let the coffee shop know how many to cater for.

Thursday the 22^nd of November: Robertson in the Southern Highlands

Rendezvous for lunch at the Robertson Inn in Robertson

We have booked the function room for our pre-Christmas get together. We’ll be relaxing over lunch and drinks from the menu. Food and drink is at your cost.

Bookings by Thursday the 15^th of November please. There is limited room in the function room.
